On July 11, CECEP held a conference on environmental protection and low-carbon development. The conference aimed to comprehensively implement Xi Jinping’s thought on ecological civilization and the spirit of the National Conference on Ecological and Environmental Protection. It also conveyed the spirit of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission’s (SASAC) meeting on environmental protection and low-carbon development for the central state-owned enterprises. The meeting was to plan the Group Company’s efforts in environmental protection, energy conservation, carbon reduction, safe production, and disaster prevention and mitigation. Hu Naimin, a member of the Party Committee and Vice President of CECEP, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
Hu Naimin conveyed the instructions from Chairman Song Xin on this prioritized work and emphasized that companies at all levels should raise their political awareness and deeply understand the significance of environmental protection and low-carbon development. He stressed the need to learn from the third round of the second batch of central ecological and environmental protection inspections. Companies should strictly control the risks of soil and groundwater pollution throughout the entire chain, prevent new environmental risks throughout the lifecycle, and comprehensively address environmental issues in key areas. Hu also highlighted the importance of coordinating energy conservation and carbon reduction and actively implementing the key tasks of the State Council’s “2024-2025 Energy Conservation and Carbon Reduction Action Plan,” steadily promoting the action plan on carbon peaking.
Hu urged companies at all levels to heighten their awareness of crises, responsibilities, and the broader context. They must diligently implement fundamental safety measures and thoroughly identify their own safety risks. This involves intensifying the inspection and rectification of hidden dangers and effectively utilizing policies for upgrading old equipment to enhance intrinsic safety and environmental protection capabilities. Companies should strengthen disaster assessment, early warning, and prevention measures, making comprehensive preparations for disaster prevention, mitigation, and relief, especially during the flood season, to ensure safe production.
At the meeting, the Group Company’s Safety and Environmental Protection Department released the “Environmental Protection Compliance Management Regulations (Draft for Comments).” CECEP Ecotech Co., Ltd. and CECEP Big Data Co., Ltd. shared their experiences in ecological and environmental protection.
