On May 29th, the handover ceremony of China-aid Sindhupalchok Hospital Recovery Project in Nepal, managed and designed by CQEC (referred to as the Nepal Hospital Project), took place. Nepalese Prime Minister Prachanda, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song, former Speaker of the House of Representatives Agni Prasad Sapkota, and Embassy Commercial Counselor Xie Yu, along with government officials, owners' representatives, and project executives attended the ceremony.
Located in Sindhupalchok District, the project covers approximately 3,790 square meters and includes the construction of a new hospital complex, a pump house, a medical waste storage station, and a generator shed. It also involves outdoor engineering and provides some medical furniture and equipment. The project commenced in September 2022 and was completed and accepted in March 2024. As one of China's 25 post-disaster reconstruction projects in Nepal, this "small but beautiful" livelihood project will further improve local medical facilities, offering enhanced healthcare services to approximately 60,000 residents, thereby serving as a testament to Sino-Nepalese friendly cooperation.
During the event, Prime Minister Prachanda and Ambassador Chen Song jointly cut the ribbon for the project, officially handing over the keys from the Chinese side to Nepal. The successful handover of the Nepal Hospital Project highlights another remarkable achievement in health cooperation between China and Nepal, showcasing China's compassion and goodwill. This initiative will continue to play a role in strengthening Nepal's grassroots healthcare system and enhancing medical services. The project's successful implementation underscores CECEP's commitment as a central enterprise and its comprehensive capabilities in international aid project design and management, further elevating the company's global reputation and influence.
