CECEP Signs Contract for Ethiopia's Largest Sewage Treatment Project

On April 18th, CECEP Guozhen signed a contract for the Design-Build-Operate (DBO) project of the Addis Ababa Eastern District Sewage Treatment Plant in Ethiopia. This project represents Ethiopia's largest sewage treatment endeavor financed by the World Bank.

The project involves the construction of two sewage treatment plants located in the Kitime and Kotebe districts of Addis Ababa, with capacities of 52,000 and 54,000 tons per day respectively. CECEP Guozhen is responsible for the project's design, equipment supply, installation guidance and commissioning, with a contract value of approximately 187 million RMB. Once completed, the sewage treatment scope will cover most of the Bole and Yeka areas, benefiting 885,000 residents in the eastern part of Addis Ababa. This initiative significantly improves local water conditions and contributes to the sustainable development of Belt and Road Initiative countries.
