During the 13rd Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020), CECEP actively fulfilled its responsibility in facilitating energy conservation and emission reduction, encouraging technological innovation and promoting green development. Taking advantage of the whole-industry chain, the company played an important role in winning the battle against pollution and actively responded to the country’s major strategies, increasing its significance in pushing forward ecological progress.
Statistics show that during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, CECEP produced nearly 69.36 million MWh of green electricity, equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 53.6 million tons and saving 21.5 million tons of standard coal. The company processed a total of 54.23 million tons of solid waste, continuing its place among top-tier companies in the industry. In addition, it treated a total of 4 billion tons of wastewater, produced and supplied 4.2 billion tons of water, and reduced a total of 910,000 tons of COD. CECEP has been cited among Top 10 Influential Enterprises in China’s Water Industry for several consecutive years.
As a major platform for pollution control in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, CECEP maintained close cooperation with 11 provinces and municipalities in the region and deepened collaboration with local enterprises, with over 80 strategic cooperation agreements signed.
In addition, CECEP has continued to play a positive role in promoting major national strategies including the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, the construction of the Xiong’an New Area, the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Pilot Zone, and the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin.
