CECEP Makes New Achievements Despite COVID-19

As a flagship company in China’s energy conservation and environmental protection sector, CECEP has played an active part in the construction of the Belt and Road projects and made steady progress in “going global.” At present, the company has set up 64 branches and carried out more than 190 projects in 54 foreign countries. The projects cover many fields including electricity, heat, gas, water production and supply, manufacturing and mining, construction, public facilities management, transportation, warehousing and postal industry, employing more than 10,000 workers.

Last year, the COVID-19 pandemic affected many overseas projects of the CECEP. Normal rotation of personnel of the projects was blocked, while the procurement and transportation of production materials were hindered because of the pandemic. As a result, construction progress of many projects was delayed and even stopped.

CECEP has always been putting the safety and health of its employees at the first place. It studied and made implementation plans and emergency plans for pandemic prevention, so as to prepare for the resumption of work and production of key demonstration projects in an orderly manner. By the end of December 2020, 77 projects of CECEP had been resumed or restarted. China Geo-Engineering Corporation, a subsidiary of CECEP, even made greater achievements in international cooperation, as it managed to sign 46 new project contracts with countries along the Belt and Road.
