On March 26, a symposium on central enterprises’ support for Hubei’s high-quality development and joint implementation of major regional strategies was held in Wuhan, capital of central China’s Hubei Province. CECEP Chairman Song Xin was invited to attend and delivered a keynote speech entitled “Helping Hubei’s High-Quality Development and Writing a New Chapter of Central-Local Cooperation.”
Song said that CECEP has been making all-out efforts to support Hubei’s post-epidemic recovery as a way to fulfill its responsibility as a central-administered State-owned enterprise. So far, CECEP has set up 16 subsidiaries in Hubei Province, established strategic partnerships with a number of cities in Hubei, and carried out more than 30 energy-saving and environmental protection projects with a total investment of over 8 billion yuan. Next, CECEP will give full play to its role as a major platform for pollution prevention and control along the Yangtze River Economic Belt, promote the construction of Xianning into a pilot city of “Innovative China,” and more actively participate in the top-level design of Hubei’s “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality” strategy. It will increase investment in areas such as clean energy utilization, solid waste treatment, sewage disposal and ecological restoration, so as to contribute to building a “Hubei model” of ecology-centered low-carbon development and promote high-quality development of Hubei.
