As a company specializing in energy conservation, emission reduction and environmental protection, CECEP has been playing its role as a “main force” in ecological civilization construction, advancing energy conservation and emission reduction, promoting green development, and striving to contribute to carbon peaking and carbon neutrality by implementing concrete measures one after another.
Focusing on main business and contributing to the “dual carbon” goal with green performance
After nearly 40 years of development, CECEP has formed a “3+3+1” business structure, namely three main segments (energy conservation and clean energy supply, ecological environmental protection, and life and health), three green businesses (green building, green new materials, and green engineering services), and strong strategic support capabilities. The company has become the flagship enterprise and “think tank” in China’s energy conservation and environmental protection industry.
As of the first half of 2021, CECEP has developed 49 green parks, constructed green buildings totaling 3.74 million square meters, and operated 44 energy supply stations providing energy for an area of 17.2 million square meters. It has produced a total of 81.1 million MWh of green power, equivalent to an emission reduction of 62.54 million tons of carbon dioxide and a saving of 25.09 million tons of standard coal; treated a total of 63.89 million tons of solid waste with a daily solid waste treatment capacity of 100,000 tons; treated a total of 5.2 billion tons of sewage and produced 4.4 billion tons of water, with a total reduction of 1.14 million tons of COD and a daily water treatment capacity of 13 million tons.
Building benchmark models and spearheading the industry with green practice
In the field of energy conservation and environmental protection, CECEP has carried out bold explorations and practices, built benchmark models for achieving the goals of “carbon reduction,” “zero carbon” and “negative carbon,” and blazed new trails for green transformation of regional development.
CECEP’s digital integrated energy project in Yinchuan Economic and Technological Development Zone
In the field of industrial energy conservation, CECEP has focused on the development of projects for comprehensive utilization of industrial waste heat, residual pressure and waste gas, taken an active part in regional integrated energy supply and incremental distribution grid projects, and strived to improve the effectiveness of energy conservation and emission reduction in industrial parks through the application of integrated energy systems. In Yinchuan, capital of northwest China’s Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, CECEP implements a comprehensive energy project based on a digital integrated energy control center and supported by three sub-systems, namely a natural gas distributed energy station, a sunlight heat collection system, and a gas boiler, which achieves integrated, complementary, and intelligent energy supply and forms an energy cycle in the local area. The project can annually supply 130,000 tons of steam and generate 440,000 MWh of electricity with a combined heat and power (CHP) thermal efficiency of 88 percent, thus saving 9,753 tons of standard coal and reducing 26,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
The Future Ark renewable energy cooling and heating project in Guiyang
In the field of building energy efficiency, CECEP is committed to constructing low-carbon and livable eco-friendly urban areas through promotion and application of combined energy technologies characterized by “clean energy” and “multi-energy complementarity.” In Guiyang, capital of southwest China’s Guizhou Province, CECEP has built a district centralized energy supply project for the Future Ark community, which combines river water source heat pump, sewage source heat pump, heat source tower and natural gas trigeneration to provide heating and cooling services for the community. The project effectively realizes efficient integration and intelligent control of renewable energy sources, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 170,000 tons a year.
Low-carbon sci-tech hall and low-carbon sci-tech park in Jiangxi
In the field of clean energy, CECEP operates two listed companies specializing in clean energy supply. By 2020, the two companies’ combined installed capacity had reach 10.8 GW, supplying 11.6 million MWh of electricity a year, equivalent to saving 3.56 million tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 8.864 million tons. By 2025, CECEP’s installed clean energy capacity is expected to reach 18 GW, equivalent to saving over 10 million tons of standard coal and reducing over 25 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
Moutai demonstration park for eco-friendly circular economy in Guizhou
In the field of resource recycling, CECEP collaborated with Moutai Group to jointly launch China’s first large-scale project for wine lees and high-concentration wastewater resource recovery. The project treats 100,000 tons of wine lees every year to produce 11.78 million cubic meters of biogas, which reduces 26,000 tons of carbon dioxide and generates both ecological and economic benefits.
