The company strives to be the main force in ecological civilization construction, promoting the initial development and growth of China's energy conservation and environmental protection cause.
CECEP has formulated the "Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Action Plan", proposing the "1+3+3" "Dual Carbon" strategy. It aims to forge a new pattern of industrial development and strive to become a world-class comprehensive solution provider for carbon peak and carbon neutrality.
CECEP hosted two international conferences, the "Climate Investment and Financing Side Event" and the second China Climate Investment and Financing International Seminar, as part of the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. These conferences have received strong response from society. During the 2022 Winter Olympics, CECEP supplied 15.11 million kilowatt-hours of green electricity to the Games, accounting for 13.5% of the total green electricity transactions during the Winter Olympics. This has helped Beijing fulfill its solemn commitment to fully offset carbon emissions during the Winter Olympics.
After years of exploration, CECEP has promoted the formation of a dual-drive layout of "zero-carbon industries + negative-carbon technologies". It has created "dual-carbon" application models such as integrated management of mountains, waters, forests, farmlands, lakes, grasses and desserts, as well as "two parks and one chain" and "integration of space, sky and land". In Guiyang, Guizhou Province, the first clean energy and low-carbon energy-saving demonstration community in China has been built. Innovative large-scale application of river water and sewage source heat pump regional energy supply technology has saved 22,000 tons of standard coal and reduced 54,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. In addition, it has achieved a breakthrough in carbon trading by completing the world's first carbon trading with blockchain and Internet of Things (IoT) technology. It has established reserves of various types of green assets and completed voluntary carbon emission reduction transactions of over 300,000 tons. It also completed the first Hong Kong dollar-denominated carbon credit transaction and the first Renminbi-denominated carbon credit transaction since the launch of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange International Carbon Market Platform.
At the same time, CECEP actively participates in the strategy of coordinated regional development and fully utilizes the role of the main platform for pollution control in the Yangtze River Economic Belt. Innovative investment and financing methods and governance models are employed, with a focus on the entire industrial chain for solid waste management. CECEP continues to deepen its efforts in the protection and restoration of the ecological environment of the Yangtze River, and has implemented over 500 energy-saving and environmental protection projects in the Yangtze River Basin, making positive contributions to the green and high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
As of now, CECEP has achieved an installed capacity of 18.259 million kilowatts for energy-efficient and green power, with a power generation of 11.77 billion kilowatt-hours. This is equivalent to a reduction of 8.874 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions and a saving of 3.56 million tons of standard coal. The daily processing capacity of solid waste is 106,000 tons, and the water supply and sewage treatment capacity is nearly 14 million tons per day, ranking among the top in the industry. CECEP has developed and operated 53 green parks and 61 comprehensive energy stations, effectively supporting regional energy saving, emission reduction and green development, and making positive contributions to carbon reduction in society.
The theme of National Energy Conservation Week 2023 is " Let's Work Together for Energy Conservation and Carbon Reduction". CECEP will continue to be a firm participant and leader in ecological civilization, a driver and pioneer of regional comprehensive solutions, a promoter and guardian of a low-carbon society. CECEP is also willing to work hand in hand with all sectors of society, jointly fulfilling the commitment of "dual carbon" and contributing to the construction of a harmonious coexistence between man and nature in the Chinese-style modernization with new and greater strength.
