Since the proposal of the Belt and Road Initiative ten years ago, CECEP has been diligently promoting energy conservation and environmental protection in the domestic market, as well as the development of clean energy. Seizing the opportunity for overseas business expansion, CECEP actively explores international markets and deeply participates in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. Numerous projects have been successfully implemented, laying the foundation for high-quality and efficient international cooperation.
Global layout: the overseas "circle of friends" continues to expand
"For the past ten years, CECEP has adhered to an internationalization strategy, emphasizing both 'going global' and 'introducing in'. We have been striving to build influential overseas projects in the field of energy conservation and environmental protection, becoming an important driving force for the energy low-carbon transformation and 'carbon neutrality' in the co-construction of the Belt and Road Initiative." the representative of CECEP stated.
A set of data bears witness to this strength. During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, CECEP carried out 361 overseas contracted projects with a total contract value of 27.391 billion RMB. Among them, there were 288 contracted projects in countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative with a total contract value of 20.943 billion RMB, achieving an export trade volume of 9.042 billion RMB.

Under the new development pattern of "domestic circulation as the mainstay and domestic-international dual circulation mutually reinforcing", CECEP adheres to a global layout. It focuses on platform construction, market expansion, project supervision, transformation and upgrading, institutional development, and corporate culture, aiming to enhance the international brand image of CECEP and steadily achieve the goal of high-quality development. While consolidating its existing overseas market foundation, CECEP vigorously explores new markets, new fields and new businesses. The number of countries covered by its overseas business has increased to 107.

By the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan period, CECEP had accumulated overseas market revenue of 18.602 billion RMB, accounting for 16% of the total revenue. CECEP affiliated companies, China Geo-engineering Corporation and Valiant, have both entered the forefront of the world. Currently, 10 CECEP secondary subsidiaries, including China Geo-engineering Corporation, CQEC, China New Era Group Corporation, CECEP Solar, and CECEP Wind-power Corporation, conduct various business activities in 107 countries and regions worldwide (including 39 countries and regions along the Belt and Road), covering Asia, Europe, the Americas, Africa and Australia.
Integrity and compliance: "Gold Medal" team receives recognition
Over the past decade, CECEP has participated in the construction of numerous large-scale projects along the Belt and Road and has gained local recognition. This is thanks to CECEP "Gold Medal" team, which is loyal to the collective, dedicated, fearless in the face of challenges, and resilient in overcoming hardships.
The Mali-Kourouba Water Resources Project, implemented from May 2016 to November 2018, was the third dam project won by the Guinea-Mali branch. The preliminary design was provided by a French consulting company, and the contract duration was two and a half years. However, during the project implementation, challenging technical difficulties arose. During the bidding inspection, the project team discovered that the construction site and reservoir had unstable sand layers.
The Guinea-Mali branch proposed a solution to the owner and the supervisor: to construct cement-soil seepage prevention piles underneath the entire dam body instead of the expensive and difficult process of sand excavation and replacement. This approach not only solved the seepage issue but also saved costs for the owner. Meanwhile, this project had a special feature. Each gate of the reservoir was 20 meters long and 4 meters high, with a total of four gates. This design involved high technical complexity, unique innovations in design, construction techniques, and gate shapes, which gained local recognition in Mali.

Chinese people adhere to the traditional values of integrity, diligence, frugality and treating others equally. Therefore, Chinese people are highly efficient and deliver good quality work in Africa." This is a passage written by an Italian journalist, which not only records his observations and experiences in Africa but also vividly interprets the inspiring spirit of the CECEP team in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Expanding cooperation channels and enhancing brand influence
In the process of jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative, in addition to expanding overseas markets for clean energy, CECEP has also vigorously promoted infrastructure construction and other businesses, broadening cooperation channels, and gradually enhancing its brand influence in the international engineering contracting field.
